Job:

As the Operations Manager (OM), you are responsible for the day-to-day operation of the hotel as an independent business unit. You strive to maximize overall performance, profitability, and—above all—guest and team member satisfaction.

The OM is supported by the Cluster General Manager (CGM) in decision-making and is responsible for realizing qualitative and quantitative goals based on the annual plan. This position holds managerial authority and discretion regarding hiring, firing, and training in cooperation with the CGM.

Main Responsibilities

1. Operations & Team Member Management

  • Direct Leadership: Manage all day-to-day operations and departments to maximize performance and ensure a distinctive customer experience.

  • Compliance: Ensure the safety of guests and team members through HACCP standards and Arbo training. Ensure all GDPR policies are understood and executed by all.

  • Network Building: Develop and maintain a regional network of stakeholders and maintain a close working relationship with all HQ departments (Finance, Marketing, Revenue).

2. People & Culture (P&C)

  • Team Leadership: Proactively manage, coach, and supervise the Management Team to maximize the hotel's performance.

  • Talent & Succession: Actively drive recruitment to attract top talent. Mentor and develop team members to ensure retention and identify high potentials for future succession.

  • Development: Lead constructive development discussions and create formal development plans where needed.

  • Cultural Reference: Demonstrate high personal integrity and treat people with respect; act as a brand ambassador and cultural example at all times.

  • Budgetary Control: Monitor approved payroll and training budgets and report deviations directly to the People & Culture Team.

  • Policies: Support the development and implementation of P&C tools and execute Employee Satisfaction initiatives.

3. Financial, IT & Systems

  • P&L Ownership: Take responsibility for the strategic operational plan and P&Ls, focusing on Performance, Revenue, Cost Savings, and Guest Satisfaction.

  • Reporting: Ensure accurate and timely hotel reporting to the Cluster General Manager; explain results/deviations and propose data-driven activities to improve the overall result.

  • Efficiency: Actively contribute to revenue generation and cost-saving measures to achieve improved business results.

4. Marketing, Sales & Revenue

  • Brand Ambassadorship: Live and communicate the Max Brown vision and values. Ensure hotel grooming and styling meet brand standards.

  • Commercial Growth: Keep the organization informed of new business opportunities; work closely with Revenue and Sales to reach individual hotel budgets and set targets.

  • Promotional Activation: Monitor data collection efforts and improve promotional activation through pre-, on-property, and post-stay initiatives.

  • Site Inspections: Liaise with the Sales team to ensure professional product presentation during site inspections.

Job requirements

  • Experience: Previous leadership experience in a similar role within the hotel sector.

  • Financial Acumen: Knowledge of hotel P&L management, payroll monitoring, and operational KPIs.

  • Leadership Style: Results-oriented with a focus on coaching, mentorship, and problem-solving.

  • Analytical Mindset: Ability to work in dynamic environments and adapt to change.

  • Language: High level of English (C1); proficiency in Greek is highly preferred.
