The Group, Meeting & Events Department is responsible for all group, meeting and events bookings in our hotels in The Netherlands. As you can imagine we have a big impact with our bookings in the hotel and of course on the revenues. We are always in contact with a lot of different departments and translating the wishes of our clients/guests towards the operational departments.

This is what you're going to do:
In this role you are going to use all your sales skills to win business for the groups, meetings and events for our property in The Hague: Park Centraal Hotel, beautifully located in the city center and near the Palace Gardens. You will partly be based in The Hague and work from the hotel so must be willing to travel as required.
However, your work week is also flexible between home and our Booking Office which is located at our HQ in Amsterdam Centre.
Together with your colleagues we:
As the most experienced planner in our team, you'll be expected to guide and mentor interns and our new team members.
Create tailor made offers and quote prices.
Negotiate contracts.
Cooperate with the other commercial departments.
Conduct site inspections.
Provide a clear handover to the hotel operational teams.
Undertake financial tasks such as preparing proformas, final invoices, commission handling and outside suppliers etc.
Report on monthly conversion and revenue figures.
Conduct client feedback interviews – either over the phone or preferably in person.

Group, Meeting & Events has everything to do with multitasking, setting priorities, and meeting deadlines… in other words: keeping your head cool! We are doing everything from A-Z in the process, from the new request coming in, to planning the event to competently handing it over to operations and then sending the final invoice after the event and follow up for feedback, all tasks will be done by you. So, there is never a dull moment in our department and a great opportunity for you to increase your skills in all areas of the process.

The best candidate is a passionate and enthusiastic salesperson who loves to organize and to plan. You are a person who can engage with both our guests within our hotels, the operational teams and your HQ colleagues, someone who wants to make every event the best it possibly can be in an effort to unburden the guest. It’s important that you have an eye for detail and that you can provide creative solutions during challenging situations and identify upselling opportunities to meet targets. You’re certainly not afraid to work under pressure! People describe you as a detail-oriented, organizational pro. And last but not least, you like to work hard, but also play hard, adding your positive energy to the team dynamic.
About you:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
At least two years’ experience as a Group, Meeting & Events Coordinator and ready to take the next step.
Native Dutch and a high level of English is a must (speaking and writing).
You don’t mind working from The Hague 1-3 days a week (as required).
You are commercially minded and have a passion for hospitality.
Excellent social and communication skills.
Team player, but certainly also proficient at working independently.
