Head Chef FT (m/w/d)

Do you have a genuine passion for the hospitality? Do you lead by example and motivate your team to deliver quality day in day out for our different F&B outlets in the hotel ? Are you an accurate and structured chef, which also have a talent in administration? If so, you could be our Head Chef at Park Centraal Amsterdam!

 As Head Chef, you are part of the management team and report to the hotel manager. The kitchen is responsible for the breakfast, six meetings rooms, room service and Bar Claes. The kitchen team consist of one breakfast chef, four chef de partie and three stewarding employees and works closely with the F&B department.

About you

  • You are an experienced and hands on chef and ensure appropriate professional work standards, productivity and practices;
  • You will be accountable for the overall success of the daily kitchen operations with a focus on banquets;
  • Creative and highly organized with a career that demonstrates a good track record of progression and stability within the roles you have held;
  • You are a natural leader, with good communication skills and is able to work under pressure;
  • Good communication skills in Dutch and English; both oral and written.


Responsibilities

  • Managing and train the team by coordinating the activities of the kitchen;
  • Plan and implement departmental goals to achieve shortfalls and prepare and develop new banqueting menus and menu for Bar Claes;
  • Experience managing food costs (forecasting supply needs and estimating costs);
  • Securing the kitchen meets all regulations, including sanitary and safety guidelines;
  • You will need extensive knowledge of best practice in regards to food hygiene standards;
  • Interview & selection and training & development of employees;
  • Flexibility to respond to a range of different work situations.

Job requirements

  • Mbo or hbo degree in Hotel management;
  •  At least have been working for the last two years in a similar role in a banquet hotel;
  • Have an operational mind-set and who drives innovative ideas to increase guest satisfaction and revenue;
  • Flexibility in working morning and evening if necessary.
